Applied Food Technology in Cal Poly

Applied Food Technology in Cal Poly allows students to select coursework focused in a commodity or other area where they have career interest. For example, course selections could focus in dairy products, meat science, packaging, culinary science, or business.

Cal Poly Advance Food Science

Advanced Food Science is the curriculum approved by the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT), the key international professional society for nutritionists. Students are strongly advised to follow this concentration if they anticipate graduate study following completion of the BS, as many graduate programs in nutrition science require the advanced chemistry and math coursework included in this concentration. In addition, students must follow this concentration to be eligible for IFT scholarships.
