To obtain the MS degree in nutrition, students must complete 32 hours course work and successfully an oral examination.Students who have earned up to 12 hours of graduate credit while enrolled as a non-degree student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign can petition hours and up to 12 hours of graduate credit at another institution taken.All students must earn a grade of B or better on each course, to transfer to a university degree.

On average, students take one course per semester, which translates into approximately 11 semester courses.The oral test is given after a student has completed all course work 32 hours, and it is strongly recommended that a student preparing for about three months before the oral examination.
